Manny's "Tired"

According to Boston.com, Manny Ramirez says he's tired and will "play three more years and call it a career at age 36." Maybe this is just Manny being Manny, but I don't like to hear my team's superstar talking about how tired he is and how he's looking forward to sitting in a rocking chair soon.

If he wants to walk away from baseball when his current contract with the Red Sox expires, that's fine. He has made his bones in the game, and earned more money than he will ever need. He will be fine. But for the next four years, I want him to play hard and earn the $20 million per year he is being paid. I don't want to hear him talk about how tired he is in the first week of the baseball season!

Sheesh!
